USBN Rescue is a miniature remote control server application (<200kB in size) that can be downloaded by a USBN customer. USBN Rescue does not require installation and does not make use of the Windows registry. Our customer has only to download the small executable, and click to make a connection for a USBN technical support engineer. The connection is initiated by the customer, and allows easy access through the customer’s firewall. USBN rescue uninstalls immediately after disconnect, and does not create any means for continued access to the customer’s machine.
The rescue session can only be initiated by the customer who must voluntary click to open the connection.
The customer and USBN technician share the desktop; each can see everything that happens.
No connections go unattended as they are only established during a telephone conversation with a USBN technical support person.
The remote server address is hard-coded and can only connect to USBN’s technical support computers.
The established session will be encrypted with 128 bit RC4 technology; the same technology used in SSL for secure web transactions and WPA for secure WiFi.
USBN Rescue is automatically uninstalled when the connection is closed.
After use, the customer’s IT personnel can easily verify that no program remnants or malware vectors remain.
